2019 Barou Cuvee des Vernes Syrah

This old vine organically grown Syrah from just a stones through away from their Saint-Joseph sites in the Northern Rhône. Hand picked, wild fermented and with aging in neutral oak barrels this shows dark plum, cherry, anise and white pepper.

Mid weight with ripe gentle tannins this refreshing Syrah and unencumbered by blocky oak use. There's lots in the glass here and it goes well with such an assortment of food yet also seems to go down very easily on it's own. Wildly good value and can be aged for a few years.
